Paternity leave

Helping families with the support they need.

Giant Eagle knows there is nothing more precious than family. Those early days bonding with a new child are particularly important. That's why in addition to our maternity benefits we offer a paid leave of absence for male corporate Team Members immediately upon hire.

Team Members are welcomed to take their time at any point within the first 12 months of a child's birth. You decide what's best for your family. We'll help you get there.

Adoption

Welcoming new family members.

Deciding to adopt a child is an exciting decision that Giant Eagle supports. All corporate Team Members are eligible to apply for financial reimbursement and flexible paid and unpaid leave to help smooth what can be a challenging process.

In part, we offer monetary support for expenses such as home studies, agency fees, medical expenses and associated immigration fees when applicable. We also allow Team Members to take time necessary either pre- or post-adoption to help make their hopes of family a reality.

Domestic Partner Benefits

Extending benefits to those important to you.

Giant Eagle knows it's with the support of significant others that many Team Members are most effective in their careers. We honor that principle by offering the opportunity to provide benefits to domestic partners and their children just as we offer those same benefits to married spouses.

In simple terms, that means our Team Members partners have access to the same medical, dental, insurance and flexible spending accounts as traditional spouses.
